abby springSpring Global founder and Principal Abby Spring has worked for over two decades at the intersection of social change, global sustainability, and international development. A seasoned global communications professional with extensive political experience, Spring has served as a communications and engagement strategist for top private firms, multilateral agencies, foundations, and NGOs, and has led many of the most high-profile development campaigns of the past 20 years.

As Senior Vice President for Global Social Responsibility at Edelman, one of the world’s leading public affairs firms, she assisted Fortune 500 companies with their communications strategies to support business initiatives, enhance visibility, and respond to public policy issues. She was instrumental in developing successful reputation and public policy campaigns and influencer engagement platforms on a wide range of issues, including women’s economic empowerment, health and wellness, food and agriculture, and sustainable development. She also directed projects involving United Nations agencies, foundations, and nonprofit organizations.

Spring has advised the leadership of NGOs, foundations, and multilaterals to drive effective policy and advocacy agendas. For example, she oversaw the 2008 Arctic Expedition for Climate Action, bringing together the Aspen Institute, National Geographic and 50 influential leaders including Google founder Larry Page, philanthropist Ted Turner, President Jimmy Carter, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, HP CEO Meg Whitman, and the heads of environmental organizations leading to new alliances and the creation of the Ocean Elders, a collective of leaders working to protect the ocean.
